Bus # 104A very useful bus but on the fast lane....  The bus line always gets complaints from locals and foreigners that the drivers drive to fast, though its convenience outweighs the insanity.  bus 104 can take you all the way to the Laoshan National State Park and to its other end the Taidong Night market on Weihai Lu. Two Qingdao Treasures!

The bus starts on WeiHai Road near the McDonald’s end of the Taidong Night Market.  It takes you through Yan'an 3rd Road to the Hong Kong Garden where you can pick it up at May 4th Square, Carrefour, Jusco, and MyKAL.  After Xin Jia Zhuang Stop (Hong Kong Garden area, Book City)  The bus continues up Hong Kong East Road driving and stopping at Qingdao and Ocean University, Beer City, ShiLaoRen Beach and eventually to Laoshan National State Park.

Bus 104 comes often and can take you to many places.  If you go up to Laoshan District you can also go to Shi Lao Ren Beach, Qingdao Museum, Exhibition Center and of course the notorious Beer City.

Don't forget though that you have to be ready for a ride.  When I was once heading up Xiang Gang East Road (Hong Kong East Rd.) the driver was driving like a lunatic.  I think he was racing another bus.  By listening to the foreigner (The Chinese) I came to the conclusion that The Bus 104 drivers are paid by commission.  The more passengers they pick up the bigger their salary. Some of the drivers seem like there racing each other for passenger fares at times.

I made the mistake of hanging on.  If you think a bus is going to fast for you, Get off and get the next one. Not all the drivers are lunatics.  Save your money and take advantage of the Qingdao Public Bus.
