Notes:
ZhanQiao Pier (栈桥) was originally constructed by the Germans in 1891. Located in Qingdao Old Town, it was originally used as a wharf and loading pier during the German concession of Qingdao. In 1931 and again in 1985, it was repaired and expanded into a wharf measuring 440 meters long by 8 meters wide. The Huilan Pavilion is situated at the most southern end of the pier and is the icon used for Tsingtao Beer.

It was further made famous by its octagonal pagoda being put on the Tsingtao Beer label. At the north end of ZhanQiao Pier you can take a rest in the park and enjoy the beautiful ornamental flowers and Japanese black pines.

Zhan Qiao (loading pier) will be closed for the summer due to damage from the last typhoon. This iconic attraction will hopefully re-open sometime in November 2013.
