Notes:
ZhanQiao Pier (栈桥) was originally constructed by the Germans in 1891. Located in Qingdao Old Town, it was originally used as a wharf and loading pier during the German concession of Qingdao. In 1931 and again in 1985, it was repaired and expanded into a wharf measuring 440 meters long by 8 meters wide. The Huilan Pavilion is situated at the most southern end of the pier and is the icon used for Tsingtao Beer.

At the south end of ZhanQiao Pier, there is a two-storied octagonal pagoda named “Hui Lai Ko” (ripple diverging pavilion) which was constructed in 1930. It was further made famous by its octagonal pagoda being put on the Tsingtao Beer label. At the north end of ZhanQiao Pier you can take a rest in the park and enjoy the beautiful ornamental flowers and Japanese black pines.
