The China Tour created from a partnership between the China Golf Association and the World Sport Group expanded to six four-day events in 2006 each with a US$100,000 pool of prize money, after beginning with four three-day events in 2005. The Tour is expected to grow by two events added each year so that by 2008 there will be at least 10 tournaments.  By providing a consistent platform of well-managed tournaments and a prize money pool that will enable the successful players to dedicate themselves to professional golf, this tour provides China's top golfers with a solid foundation on which to build a professional career .

China Golf Association is non-profit organization approved by Ministry of Civil Affairs, the China Golf Association, is a member of All China Sports Federation and the national governing body recognized by the Chinese Olympic Committee, the only legal entity which represents China in the international golf organizations and activities.  The Association was founded on May 24, 1985. It has 11 sub-committees that oversee professional golf, amateur golf, ladies' golf, youth and junior golf as well as golf club management and handicap system.

China Golf Association is a member of International Golf Federation and Asia Pacific Golf Confederation. China Golf Association uses the Rules of Golf published by the R&A in St. Andrews, Scotland and the USGA.
