Olympic Games :: Tickets go on sale for Beijing 2008 |

People living in China can now register to book tickets on the official ticketing website www.tickets.beijing2008.cn. The BOCOG (Beijing Organization Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad) recently opened the website which shows various ticket prices and said that ticket sales would begin April 2007. Ticket sales for hot events such as the Basketball competition will be done by a random drawing.
With instructions in both English and Chinese, the site now offers up-to-date information on ticket prices and policies, ordering procedures, and the competition schedule for the 2008 Olympic Games along with an introduction of the completion venues.
The most expensive tickets to the 2008 Olympic Games will those for the opening ceremony on the evening of August 8. These tickets will cost 5,000 RMB. The cheapest tickets for this event will cost only 200 RMB. Ticket prices for the closing ceremony will range from 150 – 3,000 RMB.
Ticket prices for competition events range from 30 to 1000 RMB. The men’s basketball finals will have the highest price of these events. The BOCOG said that altogether more than 7 million tickets will be available for sale. Half of these tickets will go to Chinese citizens and about 58 percent of all the tickets would cost 100 RMB or less.
