Notes:
In 2007, the Qingdao International Yacht Club (QIYC) participated in its very first America’s Cup.  The QIYC is located in FuShan Bay and led by Commodore Dong Tong Kuan who has organized a series of sailing events and match races to prepare not only for the 32nd America’s Cup, but also the 2008 Olympic Sailing Regatta.

Through these two, separate international yachting events, Qingdao will be introducing 1.3+ billion people to the world of sailing and water sports.  This year, the Qingdao Yacht Club will be making quite an entrance onto the world-stage of internationally-celebrated yacht squadrons.  Qingdao is a modern and progressive city that has taken the first Chinese America’s Cup challenge to the world.
