The Cliff Carvings of TianZhu Mountain Print E-mail
TianZhu MountainThe most famous cliff carvings of TianZhu Mountain are of the ZhengWen Tablet.   The tablet is 3.2 meters high and 1.5 meters wide, with 19 lines and with a total of 881 characters.  It was carved in 511 A.D. (the fourth year of Northern Wei Emperor YongPing's Reign) for Zheng Xi, father of Zheng Daoshao, the feudal provincial governor in GuangZhou during the Northern Wei  Dynasty.  The inscriptions testify to the merits of Zheng Xi and his family.   These carvings are considered the Best examples of Calligraphy in the Wei Dynasty.   天柱山摩崖石刻

Coastline and Tide
Qingdao's total continental coast line is 730.64 km and accounts for 25% of Shandong Province's total coastal area, not including Qingdao's 69 islands.  Including Qingdao's 32 bays and 69 islands the total coastline consists of 862.64km.  Qingdao's tidal difference is 1.9 to 3.5 meters.  There are two high and low tides in every lunar day which is 24 hours and 48 minutes long.
