Notes:
TianHou Palace has the longest history in the urban area.  This temple was first built in the Ming Dynasty (1467 AD). Its original name was TianFei Temple, and was later changed to TianHou. With a stage in the front and bell  & drum towers on both sides, this temple is also used as Qingdao's Folk Customs Museum.

Jimo City, Qingdao
Jimo City, located about about 1 hour 30 minutes by bus from the CBD and under the jurisdiction of Qingdao, is situated near MoShi river and was named during the Warring States and Qi Dynasties.  Covering an area of 1727 square kilometers, the district has 5 community service committees and 18 towns.  At the end of 2006, the district had a population of more than 1 million people with a GDP of 35.8 billion RMB and total investment of fixed assets of 16.6 billion RMB.

The "Gas Tax" is Back:
Starting on November 5th, 2007 an additional 1 RMB will be charged on all taxi fares.  This is due to the ever rising gas prices that China and the rest of the world are facing.

The Qingdao Municipal Museum is Closed until July 2008:
The City's Municipal Museum is undergoing "Olympic renovation" and will not open until next year.
