Qingdao Mountains and Hills
Qingdao's mountains are separated into three systems. LaoShan Mountains, located in the southeast, are mostly composed of granite steeps and peaks with overflowing natural springs.  The highest of these peaks is 1132.7 meters above sea level.  Located in the north are the DaZe Mountains with peaks that reach 736.7 meters and produce the famous Daze mountain grape.  To the south are the JiaoNan Mountains which includes DaZhu (486m) and XiaoZhu (724.9m) Mountains.  Qingdao's hills include Fu (384m), TaiPing (150m), Qingdao (128.5), Signal (99m), FuLong (86m), and ZhuShui hill (80.6m).

The "Gas Tax" is Back:
Starting on November 5th, 2007 an additional 1 RMB will be charged on all taxi fares.  This is due to the ever rising gas prices that China and the rest of the world are facing.

The Qingdao Municipal Museum is Closed until July 2008:
The City's Municipal Museum is undergoing "Olympic renovation" and will not open until next year.
