Qingdao's Mineral Resources
Non-metallic mineral products make up a large portion of Qingdao's mineral resources. These resources are rich in graphite and include ornamental granite, decorative marble, mineral water, diopside, gold, talk and zeolite. There are also deposits of heavy crystal stones, dolomite, dilative soil, potash feldspar, quartzite, pearlite, and flourspar.

The "Gas Tax" is Back:
Starting on November 5th, 2007 an additional 1 RMB will be charged on all taxi fares. This is due to the ever rising gas prices that China and the rest of the world are facing.
