Qingdao International Marine Festival 2011

The Qingdao International Marine Festival will be held July 23rd to August 9th, 2011 at the Qingdao International Marina & Olympic Sailing Center.

The Qingdao International Marine Festival will be held July 23rd to August 9th, 2011 at the Qingdao International Marina & Olympic Sailing Center with a grand opening show & concert to be held at TianTai Stadium near beach #1. The Qingdao International Marine Festival is co-hosted by the marine division of the National Tourism Administration, State Oceanic Administration, Naval Command, and the Qingdao Municipal Government. It is designed to promote the development of high-end marine tourism, marine culture as well as promote China’s international marine tourism industry. This year’s events will include tourist helicopter rides in a 5-passenger Eurocopter AS350, tourist cruses on the “Blue Ocean Pearl”, Qingdao – Rizhao sailing rally as well as sailing events for the kids, naval maritime shows, summer fishing contest, and numerous other activities related to the marine industry to increase the domestic and international awareness of Shandong’s new economic blue zone.

During the Ocean Festival the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Museum  will host “Wang Jia-Hua” (“汪稼华”书画展) painting & calligraphy exhibitions with half-price tickets.

The low-flying ban in Qingdao has been lifted. The helicopter rides are here to stay! Four routes have been approved which include flights over Laoshan as well as over the bay to Huangdao. The helicopter rides cost about 200 RMB per minute.
